(Bit techy I know but stay with me!!)
Microsoft have introduced a revolutionary new search engine to take on the mighty Google. This is widely tipped to be the fastest and hottest new .net technology in the next 18 months so to stay ahead of the game, here are my guidelines as to how to achieve high SEO rankings with this new phenomenon.
With the introduction of Microsoft Bing, there have been wholesale changes to the Search Engine Optimisation. Do you remember the days where you had to get links from sources or submit your website to every search engine? Well these days are finally over! This gets slightly technical but trust me, it is worth taking the time to ingest this.
The first question from Internet Marketers now is how to get their sites to the top of the search rankings, so here are my tips to achieving this.
More text is better. First things first, Bing will notice websites with more words so make sure your textual content amounts to at least 400 words on the page.
Marketers must now link out and include a key word rich title. Without a title correlating to the theme of your website you will not feature higher than everyone else.
Another very interesting point is that Bing picks up on older domains, so if you have a new, fresh domain it may be worth buying one that was registered years before but has not been bought/used. The older the domain, the more it will be noticed.
You must use well-formed HTML codes in all web pages. Close every paired tags and you should see that every link opens the correct web page. To get more information on validating your HTML code, get HTTP compression or W3C Markup Service (can be found on Google). Make sure your website does not contain broken link or the MSN bot will not effectively index your website. This will stop people from visiting your pages, not what you need!!
Allow MSN Bolt to crawl through your site and double check that it is not on the list of prohibited crawlers, you can check the control web pages to make the necessary check.
Use tags or a Robot.txt file to control how web crawlers index your site. The reason for this is that you can prevent them from crawling certain pages or files.
URL’s must be kept static and even MORE importantly, keep them simple. The more difficult a URL or the more a URL changes, the harder it is to index as a link destination. Also, a URL that never changes is easier for people to remember.
As I have already stated, this may be quite technical information but is key for high SEO. Taking a couple of hours out of a day to ensure this is all in working order will enhance your business dramatically.

Blogging to Make Money Online
Are you interested in working from home with your own business or have you just begun your journey? The best place to start is with your own blog.
The beauty of blogging is that you can spend as little as 30 minutes per day on it and it’s absolutely free!! The majority of people blog about their own interests and there are millions of people out there that would share that common interest.
The range of content with blogs is vast, from football fans venting their frustrations to entrepreneurs selling products and services, blogging has risen dramatically over the last 4 years. If you view your blog as an online journal offering interesting and helpful information you will find people returning to your site and potentially becoming regular readers.
The key to running your blog is simple. Become an authority in your given subject, earn the respect of the reader and your traffic/sales will increase.
In terms of setting up a blog, there are some simple websites that allow you to design them relatively pain free. The two websites offering the easiest solution to this are wordpress or blogger (type these into google). Both allow you to work on your blog which is essentially a web page and when you are ready and have the content you are happy with, you can publish it to the world wide web. Both have tutorials to help you along the way and will ask you to choose your own username, remember, your username will form part of your URL so choose something that’s relevant as every reader will see it!
Once you have designed your blog, come up with a username and/or a domain you will need to decide on content. Many blogs started off as small and occasional hobbies but once they gained a steady band of followers, the creators felt a duty to write more frequently and appease their “fans”. Remember, the more value you add to your blog, the more people will value you in your field.
Something I will not cover for now but will do a specialist piece on is SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). This will be hugely important, especially if you are blogging about your home based business or selling products. Your aim should be to appear on page one of any given search engine so people find you and visit your blog. My advice would be to do as much research as you can or alternatively, if you are with a business group, take advantage of their training and/or mentorship.
There are some simple ways to make money with your blog if and when you are getting sufficient traffic. Adsense or Adbite will place adverts on your website (normally at the bottom or side) relating to your chosen subject, they will create revenue for you every time someone clicks on them. Other opportunities range from selling other companies products on your site such as DVD’s from Play.com or even selling your own products. If people trust what you are saying and you have become an authority in your field, they may be interested in certain (carefully chosen) products that you have decided to affiliate market. Do remember that you must value these products and have a real belief that they will help your reader, as if they do not, you will lose them forever.
The final point to remember when writing a blog is to change with the times. Blogging began with words, it then evolved to pictures and words. Now you can have videos to promote your products or back up your post, you can have fun games for people to play, the possibilities are endless and the internet is always changing. Anything that can make your blog stand out from others is a great idea. The more enjoyable the experience of visiting your blog, the more success you will have with it.

What Don’t The Gurus Tell You About Making Money Online And Why?
FACT: There are a million articles, blogs, emails regarding making money online and offering you the answer.
FACT: After reading 99% of them you will be no further ahead and will certainly not have that answer!!!
When most people make the decision to enter the world of internet marketing they have the misguided belief that instant riches are on the way and that they will be a success from day one. Not everyone promotes a business that promises the world for little work but they certainly do not admit to just how much hard work you need to put in before achieving your goals.
Here are some of the initial facts when first starting out in the internet marketing world:
1) You MUST join an internet marketing company who offer training on every subject possible, and more important than that, someone available to talk you through it! It’s very easy for a company to take your money, provide you with pages and pages of training material and expect you to get on with it. Do you know why there is no one on the end of a phone to speak with? Because they would never be off the phone to disgruntled people who don’t understand their basic training!!!
2) THE MONEY IS IN THE LIST. Yes that’s right, if you do not have a list of interested people in internet marketing or a niche that fits your business you will not make money as a beginner. Companies will provide you with web pages, products and tell you to get out there and market but the fact is you need targeted people to market to or you will lose money!! You must drive traffic through to lead capture page and then market your company or products through to that list. Do not fall for anything else, I guarantee you will end up losing money!!
3) It is VERY RARE that you will make money within the first two months. Now I am not saying you won’t, especially if you have a list or some prior experience, but the majority of would be internet marketers need to brand themselves, set up systems, web pages and actually market them before they receive traffic and therefore money!
4) VIDEO IS IMPORTANT!!! I speak with marketers who are not comfortable in front of a camera. And my advice to them is simple.... Get comfortable. I am not saying that you must video market to make money as video has not always been around and there are hundreds of ways to market but there is no better way to relate to a prospect than to show them who you really are, how you speak, your personality etc etc If other marketers are doing it than it tells you two things, the first, it must work and the second, to compete you must do it too!
5) The main asset to your business is......YOU. Not your company, not your products, not your compensation plan, but you. Why do you think David Beckham is signed up in china to promote toilet paper, and signed up in the US to promote pens? Because people buy David Beckham not the product. He could sell Ice to the Eskimos because he has spent his entire career branding himself and creating an image to market to the world. Now we are not all David Beckham and do not all have a million dollar marketing team but you get the point! If someone buys you as a person, they will buy into your product. Fact.
6) This is one of the most important facts of all. Educate yourself wherever possible. Do not buy into an internet marketing company expecting a complete solution for your life changing home business. There isn’t one. Some are better than others, but the most successful and entrepreneurial marketers out there will buy anything if it gives them just one tip for personal improvement. If you have a spare $40 per month, join up to a programme. If you see a book out there teaching you how to achieve better web optimisation buy it! I will guarantee you that the one helpful tip you take from it will make you more money than it cost in the long run that’s for sure. If you are one of those people who wants to educate yourself on the cheapest possible budget then I am afraid success with internet marketing is most definitely not for you.
Apply these points when making your decision to enter the world of Internet Marketing and you will be a huge success and remember, it is not all doom and gloom but in my eyes honesty is the best policy. Knowing the mountain you have to climb before you start climbing will ensure success at every checkpoint!

Facebook Takes On Google!!! “FriendFeed accepts Facebook friend request"
Google have one eye over their shoulder following the purchase of the popular and acclaimed content-sharing service FriendFeed.
The search method is expected to be massive and extremely popular with searches showing results in “real time” and the internet world has seen shock waves due to the expected acquisition from either Google or Twitter.
Respected Blogger and industry expert Robert Scoble had these words to say when hearing the news "Google look out, Facebook knows the real money is in real-time search".
Although Google are the number one worldwide brand and self proclaimed “King” of the internet search, friendfeed are the Kings of the real time search and therefore, the next big advance in the internet world.
Google founder Larry Page admitted that Google had fallen behind the likes of Twitter who now have over 45 Million users stating that people wanted to do stuff in “real time”.
He even found these negative words to say when describing Google’s achievements "We've done a relatively poor job of doing things that work on a per second basis,"
Silicon Valley residents have stated that Facebook made an unsuccessful attempt to buy Twitter and so friendfeed was the next best thing. Friendfeed is known to have extremely powerful, advanced technology that allows people to aggregate what they do online and even more importantly, in real time.
Experts reveal that Friendfeed has been inspirational for Facebook with many of it’s features mirrored by that of Facebook. Examples of this are the ability for others to comment or say they like other peoples statements or the ability to import third party content such as YouTube videos.
It is believed that Friendfeed has been the research centre for Facebook and will continue to be, with Facebook using the site to test new features before including them in their site.
Even though the two companies had been discussing a deal for the last two years, experts were still caught by surprise that one of the giants did not come in and nip Facebook at the post. Founder Bret Taylor admitted that it was an “11th hour deal”. Even more interesting was that the majority of the google hierarchy/founders all worked at Friendfeed in a previous life!
The agreement states that all Friendfeed employees will become Facebook employees and the four founders will be given executive positions with the Facebook group. Also, for the moment, Friendfeed will continue to work independently.
This deal shows that even the largest of “Power houses” do not get their own way all the time and that there are infact, pretenders to the throne. One thing for sure, anyone using Facebook to network and market, it is only going from strength to strength.
